First, i am very sorry for i took these photos at night, so that it’s not with high definition as you wish.

To begin with, I go through the basic functions. Below is the start-up screen as soon as the device is plugged into the OBDII port (The unit will power-up as soon as it’s plugged in). It gives you four options;
1) OBDII
2) VAG
3) Settings
4) Playback
The device is easy to use (plug and play) and set-up is pretty self explanatory. i cycle through the scanner using the arrow buttons and enter/back buttons.

Then try NT500 on my car for service light reset
In the Application interface, press on the Enter button to load data
Go to SKODA diagnosis

Choose system

–> 17- instrument

Then the device will be communicating with the car
–> 8 adaption

–> go to input the channel number: 02, and then save and continue

–> go to set new value: 000 and save

–> confirm to set new value 0

Q:I bought a Foxwell NT500 VAG Scanner, I scanned my car whose model is VW passat 2007 2.0L and found couple of codes. I accidentally deleted all codes before I actually managed to read them. However, there were errors within immobilizer, CAN gateway and Engine, among which there is one in the engine code saying something like mass air flow sensor open or short to ground.
How to fix it?

A:It’s definitely a glow plug. I have meet the same problem on my Laguna, firing on three on a cold start, clouds of smoke, and a slower idle (the more sophisticated electronic in the passat might try to compensate for this), But it starts OK when hot. Tested them once I’d got them out, and one was shot, replaced them and all is OK.

This blog records my testing results about what foxwell NT510 scanner can do and cannot do. The test mainly focuses on some models of BMW, Ford and Chevy/GM. So far I have good success with BMW.

Works:

Can find 2 misfires because of bad plugs for 2006 BMW X3

Can diagnose and find bad HAL sensors stopping the roof from retracting for 2009 BMW z4

Can see all appropriate data, clear warnings, etc. for 2002 F250 XLT.

(With manually picking the truck the autoscan worked, this truck doesn’t have to many systems)

Not works:

Cannot work auto pin for Ford& Chevy/GM, you should manually pick the truck.

Uncertain part with issues for Chevy/GM

Can not sure if the scanner can read fault codes and run an autoscan successfully for 2012 Avalanche LTZ.Anyone with NT510 can test this vehicle model and share the result with me.

Issues: ABS warning light illuminated

ABS brakes not operating

Reason:

Because of the safety of functional and safe brake operation, the ABS Module (and the SRS Module) does a self test by supplying voltages to each pin and measuring the voltage (the short version) on its corresponding return pin. In an instance when the voltage is not within its specified parameters -IE. Too High, Too Low, Missing, The ABS module then determines the relevant fault and deactivates the ABS system and illuminated the ABS warning light, which happens during each key cycle. This is why the light illuminates when the key turns on.

Operation

1 navigate to the diagnostic menu of BA ford falcon, and obtain the fault code “C1155 LHF Wheel Speed Sensor”

2 turn the ignition on. After the self test of ABS module, reset the fault code.

3 graph the left and right front wheel sensors from the live data menu with NT630.(The output of the LHF wheel speed sensor was flat line at the time of driving.

4 find the sensor is in fact open circuited after get access to the wheel speed sensor and a quick resistance.

This blog records my feedback on Foxwell NT500 VAG Scanner, among which the most important part is my operation about quick coding to disable the seat belt chime on my car 2008 B7 A4.

I bought my Foxwell NT500 on foxwellshop with US$159, which was recommended by a friend on forum. I received a package with NT500 VAG Scan tool, memory card, USB and diagnostic cable, nylon carry pouch and user’s guide.

I was able to scan my airbag codes and figure out my problem. You could save scan info to the provided SD card. Then I searched the Web for some further explanation and some DIY help. In short, it appeared to do what it said quite well.

I just did a little more investigation after that and found that the NT500 appears to be capable of all of those functions (coding, adjusting headlights, taillight brightness, key fob tricks, system diagnostics, etc.) except for maybe the ability to update the software part. The adaptation functions covered documented and undocumented settings. The documented settings gave an explanation of the parameter and suggested values. Again, I had no experience with the PC versions, but so far it was very promising. I would try to get some screen shots.

Thus I did quick coding example to disable the seat belt chime on my 2008 A4. Here was the display:

I received Foxwell NT510 at Jun 28 to work on a 2002 GM C1500. It did not come with the GM software installed, since I specified GM for my included 1 free vehicle make. I was asked to register on Foxwelltech.com website and download the program, my Serial number is NV516040XXXXX.

After successfully registered, I find nothing more. When I select the GM software and attempt to install, the website prompts me to click "here" to install a client, which fails to work.   I've included a screen sh ot and the result of clicking on the "here" prompt.

I have attempted with both windows 7 and windows 10

Then, their engineer help set my serial number combine with GM program and then I just need update the device by following update procedure:

Finally, I figured it out...GM software is loaded. The OBD2 scanner works well. All other features work

Therefore, I think Foxwell NT510 is worth to have one although there are also a little bug, as long as the customer service response fast and help fix it up.
